It's the sound of the 50's

I was fortunate enough to be asked to photography a wedding that was not going to be the run of the mill. The happy couple Donna and Baz are not your average wedding clients both being covered in tattoo's and piercings didn't want your average wedding. They created a vibrant 50's themed event, with the guests also joining in the spirit of the day by dressing for the occasion in vintage clothing and matching hairstyles. You knew it was going to be something different when a giant chrome clad american Buick pulls up to the venue with Donna onboard carrying a beaming smile.

The bride and groom didn't disapoint with their flair and creativity. The bride dressed in a beautiful vintage 50's inspired wedding dress with matching red polkadot shoes and flowers while the groom looked dapper in his blue rockabilly suit.

So what they needed was a venue for wedding photos that complemented the theme, we all headed for the local bowling alley in Derby. The bowling alley willingly let us use the venue and even gave Donna & Baz a complementary bottle of champagne and bowling pin as a souvenir of the memorable day. It was something very different and the unusual surroundings made for some unique images that I felt capture the payful spirit of this lovely couple.

A great day was had by all and definitely one wedding I will remember!
